Rural tourism on the path to increasing expertise: The Union participates in the Academy for the Development of Business Associations from the National SME Platform

On October 9-11, training began at the International Business School of Alfred Nobel University in Dnipro as part of the project “Academy for the Development of Business Associations: Strengthening the Organizational Capacity of Ukrainian Business Associations as Intermediaries between Micro, Small and Medium-Sized, and Large Businesses”, which is implemented by the National Platform for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses with the assistance of the United Nations Development Program in Ukraine (UNDP Ukraine) and financial support from the Government of Japan provided within the framework of the “Transformational Recovery for Human Security in Ukraine” initiative.

The training program is aimed at strengthening the capacity of business associations of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) to be influential representatives of small businesses in communicating with government authorities, effective mediators in interacting with big business, in particular in forming purchasing and export alliances and supporting the activities of their members in difficult economic conditions.

The Academy for the Development of Business Associations of the National SME Platform is a new educational platform for leaders of Ukrainian business associations and was created to strengthen their organizational capacity and role in the development of small and medium-sized businesses.

It is worth noting that the Union of Rural Green Tourism of Ukraine is one of the winners of the competition for the Academy for the Development of Business Associations of the National SME Platform. The Union for the Promotion of the Development of Rural Green Tourism in Ukraine was among 22 business associations selected to participate in the Academy for the Development of Business Associations, which was launched by the National SME Platform with the support of UNDP in Ukraine and the Government of Japan.

For the Union, participation in the program is a good opportunity to strengthen its potential as an all-Ukrainian network in the field of rural tourism, exchange experience with colleagues from different regions of Ukraine and implement best management practices.

At the initiative of the Deputy Head of the Union of Rural Green Tourism of Ukraine, President of the Academy of Rural Development of the Union of Rural Green Tourism of Ukraine, Natalia Vengerska, members of the Public Organization “Union of Rural Green Tourism of Ukraine” are participating in the project. Thus, the 1st training module of the project was attended by a member of the Union, Vice-President of the Academy of Rural Development of the Union of Rural Green Tourism of Ukraine Larysa Bezkorovayna.

According to the plan of the 1st training module, there was a discussion of values, activities and projects.

The head of the project “Academy of Development of Business AssociationsLyubomyr Chorniy delivered a welcoming speech. Yuriy Fridman (CEO of the International School of Business of the Alfred Nobel University) spoke about the issues of understanding and limitations of the project, the features of project management, and the stages of project implementation; Denis Denisenko (Director of LLC “Operational Sociology”) spoke about the organization as a project; Serhiy Bashkin (business trainer) reported on the meanings in the organization’s activities, responsibility, and self-sabotage.

It is important that within the framework of the training module, there was an acquaintance with the communities of the city of Dnipro, who spoke about the successful implementation of their projects: Alina Shcherbyna (managing partner of the LEAD Business Club); Yuriy Nesterenko (partner of the business community ВOARD Dnipro); Veronika Shevignonova (business partner of the Young Business Club); Vitaliy Zaitsev (Chairman of the Board of the Scientific Cluster “Science Parks of Ukraine”).

The participants of the event listened to the speakers with interest, lively discussed issues, asked questions to the speakers, performed practical tasks, exchanged contact information, and built common ideas for further cooperation. For the Union of SZTU, the knowledge gained is an important platform for the successful implementation of plans, the development of its own development strategy, and the construction of joint projects.

An interesting event was the stay of a member of the SZTU Union in the city of Dnipro. Thus, during the alarm, hiding from the night shelling of the city, Larisa met the famous Georgian jazz singer, author and composer of songs Nino Katamadze in the shelter of a hotel. The singer came to the city as part of the October musical tour of Ukraine together with the band “Insait“. Despite the difficult situation and danger, they talked about victory, about the future of life in Ukraine, as well as about tourism, which needs to be developed in the country. According to Nino, it is necessary to pay attention to the development of tours for people with disabilities (veterans; people and children who suffered from the war). Nino and the band’s team support Ukraine, help the Armed Forces of Ukraine, show humanity and strength of character. Great gratitude and respect to Nino Katamadze and friends of the band “Insait” for their support, help and faith in the prosperity of our country, including through the development of tourism.

Training within the framework of the project “Academy of Business Association Development: Strengthening the Organizational Capacity of Ukrainian Business Associations as Intermediaries between Micro, Small and Medium, and Large Businesses” continues and new meetings, interesting events, exciting emotions and discoveries await the members of the association… The second module “Leadership, Services and Membership” will begin on October 16 in Vinnytsia.

Sincerely
