IX regular reporting and election meeting of the Union was held in Kyiv region

On September 18-19, 2019, the IX regular reporting and election meeting of the Union of the Northwest Territories of Ukraine took place in the green tourism estate “Zvenigorod” in the Kyiv region.

By decision of the meeting of the board of the Union, 39 authorized representatives with the right to vote – active members of the Union from 21 regions of Ukraine – were elected to participate in the meeting. 35 people took part in voting on the main issues, 17 of them – in person, 18 – remotely.

The agenda of the meeting considered the following issues:

• Report of the chairman of the board of the NGO “Association for the Promotion of Rural Green Tourism in Ukraine” V. P. Vasyliev for the period from June 2016 to September 2019.

In the report, Volodymyr Pavlovich emphasized the achievements of the 23-year activity of the SZTU Union, and also noted the challenges facing the industry and the SZTU Union in particular.

According to the results of the report, the activity of the organization for the period from June 2016 to September 2019 was recognized as satisfactory by the meeting participants.

Report of the Chairman of the Board of the NGO “Spilka SZTU”

• Election of the chairman of the board of the NGO “Association for the Promotion of the Development of Rural Green Tourism in Ukraine”.

According to the results of the voting for the nominated candidates for the position of the chairman of the board for the next term, the acting chairman  Vasyliev Volodymyr Pavlovich was re-elected  (23 votes “for”).

• Election of members of the board of the NGO “Association for the Promotion of the Development of Rural Green Tourism in Ukraine”.

Voting was held for the quantitative composition of the board of the Union, according to which the quantitative composition of the board was approved in the amount of 9 people (21 votes “for”).

The composition of the board was proposed to be elected by a package. Thus, after receiving 29 “yes” votes, the following were elected to the board:

1.  Volodymyr Vasiliev  – chairman of the board of the Union, initiator and organizer of the development of rural green tourism in Ukraine, editor-in-chief of the popular science magazine “Rural Green Tourism”, expert adviser on the development of rural areas, marketing and rural tourism;

2.  Olena Borodina  – head. Department of Economics and Policy of Agrarian Transformations of the Institute of Economics and Forecasting of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences;

3.  Olena Gafurova  – professor of the Department of Agrarian, Land and Environmental Law named after Academician V. Z. Yanchuk of the National University of Bioresources and Nature Management of Ukraine, Doctor of Law;

4.  Yurii Zinko  – head of the Lviv Regional Center for Rural Green Tourism, senior lecturer at the Department of Tourism, Faculty of Geography, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv;

5.  Iryna Okolovych  – graduate student of the Department of Country Studies and Tourism, Faculty of Geography, Kyiv National University named after T. G. Shevchenko, manager of the project “Rural green tourism – from disconnected estates to territorial clusters”;

6.  Elmira Maslova  – the owner of the ethnic estate “Malva Ozerna”, the ethno-recreation club “Ruthenia”;

7.  Oleksandr Palariev  – head of the agro-ecological-recreational cluster “Frumushyka-Nova”;

8.  Serhii Tymofiev  – head of the Smilyan branch of the Union of SZTU, owner of the green estate “Kholodnoyarsky zorepad”, initiator of the creation of the tourist cluster “Haidamatskyi Shlach”;

9.  Olena Shcherban  – ethnologist, doctor of historical sciences, owner of the EthnoEcoAgroEstate-Museum “Lyalyna Svitlytsia”.

In addition, active and fruitful discussions and debates took place at the meeting, in particular regarding the popularization of rural green tourism in Ukraine. Each participant of the meeting voiced proposals and recommendations regarding further steps of activity and possible directions of future work of the Union.

A separate place on the agenda was reserved for greetings and awards. The participants of the meeting were awarded diplomas, thanks, and certificates of categorization “Ukrainian Hospitality Manor”. Special congratulations on the anniversary were sent to Vira Stefanivna Chepurna, who turned 70 years old. She has devoted the last 15 years to hospitality at her estate “Kobzareva Koliska” in Cherkasy region, where she hosted almost 3,000 guests from Ukraine and 16 countries. Not only members of the Union, but also invited guests joined in congratulating Vera Stefanivna, including the NGO “Network of Rural Development of Ukraine”.
