Congratulations to Iryna Okolovych, ambassador of the Union of Rural Green Tourism, on obtaining the scientific degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Tourism

Iryna Okolovych, the ambassador of the Union of Rural Green Tourism, received a Doctor of Philosophy degree in tourism.

On August 30, 2023, she successfully defended her dissertation on the topic: “Clusterization of rural tourism in Ukraine.”

The scientific supervisors of the dissertation are Olha Lyubitseva, doctor of geographical sciences, professor of Kyiv National University named after T. Shevchenko and Mart Reimann, Associate Professor of Management, Recreation, Tallinn University, Estonia.

Foreign experience proves that clustering as a form of self-organization of rural tourism is one of the most effective.

However, the potential of clustering is still relatively little studied in our country. This determines the relevance of the topic of this dissertation research.

Its main provisions related to the development of a model of tourism clustering in rural areas, as well as factors that determine the success of rural tourism clusters.

Chairman of the Union of Rural Green Tourism Volodymyr Vasiliev: “The practical significance of the results of the dissertation is important. The results of this research can be used by state authorities, local governments, as well as market participants and estate owners to improve the sustainability of their activities.”

In 2017, Iryna Okolovych graduated from Kyiv National University named after T. Shevchenko and received a master’s degree with honors in the educational program of tourism studies, specializing in international tourism. In 2018-2023, she studied at the graduate school of T. Shevchenko KNU.

During her studies, she worked as the Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Union of Rural Green Tourism.

In 2023, she became the Ambassador of the Union of Rural Green Tourism in Ukraine.
