Rural green Khmelnytsky region is moving forward in small steps

The head of a separate division of the Association for the Promotion of Rural Green Tourism Development in Khmelnytskyi Oblast together with representatives of Staroushytsk OTG officially presented a tourist product in Starous Uzytsa – “Legends of Ponizza – the green route of Starousytsk OTG”.

The problem is that the vast majority of tourists who visit this region stay at cottages in Bakot, at most – go to see the Bakot Monastery. But this land actually has a lot of charms and the Association is working to show tourists all the interesting things of Ponizzi and teach local residents to offer an interesting service and an interesting product for which tourists will pay money.

The first stage was the development of a tourist map, on which 8 main tourist locations and several dozens of overnight accommodation, food facilities and even the “Bakota amulet” were drawn – that’s what the locals call the only ATM in Staraya Ushita 🙂

Several stands (1×1.5 meters) with a map were made, and 1,000 copies of the booklet were printed. Stands will be placed in tourist concentration points, and booklets will be distributed in estates, cafes, as well as in Khmelnytskyi, Kamianets-Podilskyi and surrounding regional centers.

The next stage: the development of several proposals for a tourist route, walking and cycling, as well as the development of a unique bicycle quest “Place of Power”. This will not be a banal excursion, but whole adventures, with riddles and hidden treasures. It is also planned to manufacture and install a number of Green Points – Rest places on the green route. These will be special zones equipped with a gazebo, tables, benches, bicycle parking, garbage cans and the above-mentioned tourist information stand. And for the following periods, it is planned to hold a festival and revive cycling competitions, which were held here more than 60 years ago. Working with the Starousytsia OTG is surprisingly easy, it is not for nothing that local activists live in “Places of Power”!
