The Union of CZTU joins the implementation of the project “Prospects of sustainable development of rural areas”

The NGO “Association for the Promotion of the Development of Rural Green Tourism in Ukraine” is starting work on the project “Perspectives for the Sustainable Development of Rural Areas”, which is implemented with the financial support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany. The project is aimed at promoting the sustainable development of rural territorial communities and increasing their capacity through the development of rural tourism and hospitality.

As part of the project, the following activities are planned by the organization until the end of 2021:

● conducting educational webinars for united territorial communities on the basics of sustainable development of rural tourism (legal regulation, organization of activities, road map for the development of rural tourism in the community, branding, etc.);

● preparation of the electronic brochure “Rural tourism – opportunities for community development” (legal basis, experience of other countries, models and practices, advice and recommendations);

● creation of educational videos about tourism-successful communities and hospitable estates;

● introduction of an educational platform on the portal  www.greentour.com.ua  for access of communities and rural population to current requirements of Ukrainian legislation, domestic and foreign experience, etc.;

● educational trip of representatives of communities to get acquainted with tourism-successful communities and family farms;

● advocacy – development of recommendations regarding the normalization of current legislation in the conditions of the post-quarantine period, formation of the register of guest houses “Safe travels”; 

● preparation of six issues of the electronic magazine “Rural Green Tourism”;

● final conference of project participants and partners, summary, presentation of materials.

On the territory of Ukraine, the project “Perspectives for the sustainable development of rural areas” is implemented by the NGO Ecodia together with the NGO “Ukrainian Network of Rural Development” and the NGO “Union of Rural Green Tourism of Ukraine”, in cooperation with DRA eV and with the financial support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany.

GS “Ukrainian Network of Rural Development”  is a public union that forms a platform for mutual learning and exchange of knowledge and experience with the aim of increasing the quality, efficiency, and productivity of available agricultural and rural resources in the interests of the rural population and sustainable development of the country’s rural areas.

The NGO “Union of Rural Green Tourism of Ukraine”  is a public organization that works to unite the owners of estates and tourists on the most powerful communication and marketing platforms, creates an attractive and high-quality alternative for tourists when choosing recreation in the form of rural green tourism, and helps the owners of estates to achieve sustainable development.

DRA eV  is an international non-governmental charitable organization that works in the field of education, democracy, ecology, public initiatives and human rights. DRA eV connects people and organizations and strengthens contacts between different sectors of society.
