The finalists of the contest “Incredible Villages of Ukraine 2019” have been determined

The expert council of the 4th All-Ukrainian competition “Incredible villages of Ukraine 2019” chose 5 finalists.

During the online voting of the 20 best applications, everyone could cast their vote for one or more villages. As a result, 11 business plans for the development of rural areas were determined, from which the Expert Council of the competition selected the five best, which will go to the III stage of the competition – the final.

So, finalists!

1. p. Shchaslyvtseve, Kherson region. – creation of an accessible beach for wheelchair users and other groups with reduced mobility (721 points);

2. p. Skrypai, Kharkiv region. – construction and arrangement of two sites for collection and sorting of solid waste (697 points);

3. p. Zaliznyak, Sumy region. – purchase of equipment for the local chicory coffee shop-library with agrarian and environmental literature for tourists and residents (686 points);

4. p. Lysets, Khmelnytskyi region. – arrangement of an observation deck and houses for trade in locally produced products (638 points);

5. p. Skotareve, Cherkasy region. – arrangement of a coastal recreation area around a pond in the center of the village (624 points).

The “Incredible Countryside Run” starts today and will last until August 30. Journalists of AgroPortal.ua will visit each of the 5 villages to see its incredibleness and help prepare for the defense of their business project before the members of the Expert Council in September of this year.

The winning village of the IV All-Ukrainian competition “Incredible villages of Ukraine 2019” will receive UAH 100,000 for the implementation of a business project (part of the winnings will be collected with the help of a challenge organized by AgroPortal.ua together with the educational project “Agrokebety”).

Note.  The prize means a certificate for a certain amount with subsequent purchase by the organizers of the necessary equipment for the implementation of the business project for the village. The amount is shown excluding taxes and fees.

One of the 11 semi-finalist villages will receive a green alley as a gift from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ukraine, which will allow the village to become even more attractive.

The Baker Tilly Ukraine company will provide one of the 11 semi-finalist villages with a cash prize to partially cover the costs of implementing a business project.

The five finalist villages of the competition will receive an annual subscription to Agroexpert magazine.

The applications of all 20 villages that made it to the stage of online voting were published on the official page of AgroPortal.ua in the Facebook social network with the hashtag #incredible_village_of_UA.

For reference: the All-Ukrainian competition “Incredible villages of Ukraine 2019” is being held for the fourth time by the agrarian online publication  AgroPortal . u.a. ​Over four years, 690 villages from all over Ukraine took part in it.
