Polisky nature reserve

This is one of the oldest nature reserves in Ukraine, which was created in 1968 in the north of Zhytomyr region. The reserve protects the unique natural complexes of Polissia, which consist of swamps, forests, lakes and rivers. Here you can observe various species of birds, fish, amphibians, reptiles, mammals and insects. Among them are such rare and protected species as black stork, white crane, great horseshoe crab, beaver, wolf, elk and others. Kaniv nature reserve

This reserve is located on the right bank of the Dnieper downstream from Kanev. The reserve was founded in 1923 as the first landscape reserve in Ukraine. This reserve is located in the Ternopil Region on the southern slope of the Podilsk Upland. The reserve was created in 1990 to protect the unique natural complexes of “Medoboriv” – a narrow hilly ridge that stretches from Ternopil to Moldova. Here you can see different landscapes: from dry steppes and forest-steppes to wet forests and swamps. The reserve is famous for its flora and fauna, among which there are many rare and endemic species. For example, honeysuckle, ungulate, heather, and fireweed grow here, and dandelions, snakes, lizards, owls, weasels, badgers, and others live here. The reserve also has historical and cultural significance, because there are archaeological monuments here, which testify to the ancient population of these lands.

Nature Reserve “Rostochchia”

This reserve is located in the Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions on the northern slope of the Carpathians. The reserve was created in 1984 to protect the unique natural complexes “Roztochchya” – a strip of hilly terrain that separates Prykarpattia from Podillia. Here you can see different landscapes: from forest and forest-steppe to wet meadows. The reserve is famous for its flora and fauna, among which there are many rare and endemic species. For example, Roztochan orchid, Roztochan crocus, Roztochan cornflower grow here, and Roztochan woodpecker, Roztochan falcon, Roztochan hare, Roztochan fox and others live here. The reserve also has historical and cultural significance, as there are monuments of architecture, art and folk art.
