On May 7, at the Tavri State University of Agrotechnology named after Dmytro Motorny in the city of Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia region, a round table meeting was held, at which the educational and professional program for higher education degree holders “Bachelor” in specialty 242 “Tourism” was presented and discussed.
Quality education is education oriented to the labor market and the needs of employers. In order to meet the challenges of modern times, educational institutions must be very flexible and open to cooperation, therefore, developing the young and very promising specialty “Tourism”, the team of the Department of Business Consulting and International Tourism of the Tavria State Agro-Technological University strives to take into account the interests of all interested parties.
Educators, representatives of local authorities and tourism business took part in the work of the round table:
• rector of the university, doctor of technical sciences, prof. V. M. Kyurchev;
• vice-rector of the National Academy of Sciences, Ph.D., associate professor Lomeiko O. P.;
• Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Associate Professor S. V. Karman;
• Head of the Department of Municipal Marketing and Tourism of the Melitopol City Council of the Zaporizhzhya Oblast Hryhorovych O. V.;
• Director of the Melitopol Local Lore Museum Ibragimova L.R.;
• head of the cultural heritage protection and tourism department of the Communal Institution “District Culture Center” of the Melitopol City Council Panasenko Yu. P.;
• Chairman of the public organization “Zaporizhia Regional Representative Office of the Association for Promotion of Rural Green Tourism Development in Ukraine” N. Yu. Bernaga;
• head of the public organization “All-Ukrainian Union of Hotel and Restaurant Employees” G. O. Fedorenko;
• head of the Union of Public Organizations “Council of National Societies” L. S. Margaryan;
• Yermak V. A., head of the public organization “Charivna Tavria” and owner of the green manor “Hostiny u Valentiny”;
• heads of travel agencies: “OldiTravel” – O.V. Brovkina (Dnipro), “Tural Ukraine” – N.M. Voronina (Zaporizhia), “Bravo-tour” – V.K. Kharchenko, “Caravan – travel” – S. V. Kasyanenko, “Sea of tours” – T. V. Klion, “I fly where I want” – O. M. Medvedeva, “World of travel” – O. O. Shevchuk (Melitopol);
• O. O. Rymarenko, owner of the green estate “On the farm”;
• heads of departments and teachers of TDATU, who ensure the educational process of specialties.
The purpose of the event was to discuss general and professional competencies in the field of tourism, which will allow students of the specialty to work successfully in the field of service of the tourist complex of the country and the world.
The participants of the discussion showed great interest and enthusiasm. Many interesting thoughts were expressed, many ideas were born, valid comments were made. Everyone felt that they were doing a common, important thing.
The representatives of the tourism business invited to participate in the round table expressed their willingness to provide practical assistance in the training of future specialists by presenting their enterprises and organizations as bases of educational and production practices.
The event ended with informal communication over coffee. The guests shared their impressions, discussed the possibilities of fruitful cooperation in the field of personnel training for such an important field of activity for our country, which is tourism.
Based on the results of the round table, the educational and professional training program for the higher education degree holders “Bachelor” in the specialty 242 “Tourism” will be finalized, taking into account the comments and wishes of all participants-partners of the program.
