On October 13, 2018, for the first time in Dolyna region, the gastronomic and ethnographic festival “Boyko’s Beetroot Pies” will be held. The program of the festival includes master classes on cooking ancient Boikos dishes, brewing Carpathian herbal teas, instructive stories about the beneficial properties of medicinal herbs and mushrooms, tasting of drinking honey and sheep cheese, performances by local bands and Boikos “troyisty” musicians, a master class on coin forging, horseback riding and many more interesting things!
We cordially invite you to experience the Boyko hospitality, taste old dishes and get acquainted with the traditions of the Boyko ethnic group.

Location 1:
From 9.00 – meeting of the participants, accommodation.
10.00: Opening of the festival by Oksana Kleban, owner of the Darvayiv Kut estate, head of the Ivano-Frankivsk regional branch of the Union for the Promotion of Rural Green Tourism in Ukraine.
10.30-12.00:
- a master class on making tuber pies from the district’s Boyko housewives accompanied by Boyko folk songs;
- Tasting of assorted tuber pies;
- a master class on cooking an old Boyko dish “dumplings with milk”, tasting.
Location 2:
13.00-21.00 – performances by local bands and Boyko “troyisty” musicians.
13.00-20.00 – a master class on coin forging, a story about the ancient products of blacksmiths from the village of Veldizh (Shevchenkove).
13.00-20.00 – “horseback riding” attraction of the German sports breed, communication with domestic animals (sheep, goats, horses).
13.00-20.00 – tasting of drinking honey and honey products.
13.15 – master class on making Boyko herbal teas.
14.20 – a story about the medicinal properties of mushrooms “Miracle Doctor”, tasting.
15.00 – cooking an ancient Boyko dish on the Tokan fire.
15.30 – tasting of Boyko herbal teas.
16.00 – tasting of sheep cheese (4 types), a story about the beneficial properties of sheep milk and cheese.
16.30 – tasting and a story about the healing properties of mushrooms “Miracle Doctor”.
18.00 – tasting of the ancient Boyko dish Tokan.
18.00-20.30 – folk festivities, dishes on the grill.
20.00 – ignition of the Boyko bonfire.
21.00 – closing of the festival.
