May 23 in the House of Culture of the city of Khmilnyk. that in Vinnychyna, a public consultation of the “Parliament for the Village” project was held.
It was attended by: project manager Inna Velichko, lawyer Olena Gafurova, sociologist Volodymyr Trilis, coordinator in Vinnytsia region Oksana Bas.
The purpose of this project is to ensure interaction between government officials and the population, which is an actual or potential provider of rural green tourism and rural hospitality services. The project aims to create a high-quality normative document supporting activities in the field of rural tourism based on surveys and public consultations. Representatives of the Khmilnytskyi territorial community, owners of agro-tourism estates, and active villagers took part in the discussion of the development of rural communities.
The project “Parliament for the village” extends to the Vinnytsia and Khmelnytsky regions and aims to create a separate regulatory document in the field of rural tourism. It is important to do this before 2024, when changes to the Law on Tourism will come into effect.
In addition, a survey was conducted as part of the consultation, where everyone chose the best option for themselves. The results of the survey showed that the biggest problem for the development of tourism in villages is the lack of funds.
Those present listened to the story of the two owners of rural guesthouses “Poliska Khata” of Zhytomyr Oblast and “Podilska Rodina” of Vinnytsia Oblast, about their achievements and development in this matter.
At the end of the meeting, everyone could give their own answers to the following:
- What support from the state is necessary for more successful development of rural tourism in Ukraine?
- Can rural tourism develop in “urban areas”?
- Which term is better to use in the legal field: “rural tourism” or “rural hospitality”? Other.
- Is a separate law on NWT necessary?
- Are similar measures – public consultations – required for legislative decisions?
